Showcasing the growing number of exceptional creative talent on its doorstep, August Craft Month will shine a spotlight on our renowned regional craft known across the globe and the new hidden gems making waves in the local craft world.
With internationally-recognised makers, craft start-ups and increasingly popular hands-on craft activities, the vibrant craft sector is continually thriving in NI. August Craft Month is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the local talented artists, designers and makers across NI, each with their own personal story behind their unique craft.

Lowe Craft Prize 202017-Jul-2019 - Awards & Competitions
Applications are now open for the Lowe Foundation Craft Prize 2020.
All participants must be professional artisans of 18 years or older at the time of the submission of entries. Entries may be made by an individual or collective (as a ‘group submission’). Businesses and mercantile companies of any kind are excluded. All nationalities are welcome.
Each participant can present either one single piece of work or one series of works, understood as a number of objects considered as a single artistic creation (henceforth, ‘the Work’). This should fall within an area of the applied arts and, as a guide, within the following categories: ceramics, bookbinding, enamelwork, jewellery, lacquer, metal, furniture, leather, textiles, glass, wood, paper, etc.

A trade fair held in Munich, Handwerk & Design is the biggest and most important forum for contemporary handicraft in the field of applied arts and crafts in the German-speaking region.

The Market Place Theatre in Armagh are delighted to work with the Irish Museum of Modern Art to secure on loan a number of The Táin Tapestries and for the first time exhibit the work of Louis le Brocquy.

COLLECT 2019- Fairs
Collect returns to London’s Saatchi Gallery. Collect is the only gallery-presented art fair dedicated to modern craft and design, and provides an opportunity to discover and invest in exceptional work produced in the last five years by living artists, much of which is made exclusively for the Fair.
