Golden Fleece Award launches newly-designed logo and website26-Jul-2019
The goal of the new website is to create a more user-friendly platform that would highlight the quality of work and diversity of creative practices supported by the Golden Fleece Award.
The new logo is based on the hand-lettered text of the original emblem created by the Award’s founder, Lillias Mitchell, for the Golden Fleece Weaving Workshop that she established at 84 Lower Mount Street, Dublin 2 in 1946.
Processions Banner to be exhibited at the British Textile Biennial23-Jul-2019
A processions banner created in Northern Ireland has been selected to be exhibited at the British Textile Biennial.
The Banner was produced in a collaboration between The Institute for Conflict Research, the artist Rita Duffy, and over 30 women participants from various locations across Northern Ireland.

DIY Silkscreen Printing - Crescent Arts Centre- Workshops
In this course you will develop the skills needed to produce silkscreen prints at home.During the course you will learn about mixing inks, making your own silkscreen frame and how to print repeated patterns.The printing methods taught can be applied to fabrics including t-shirts and bags, posters, cards and much more. The opportunity to create work for your own chosen project will also be an option. Glass Blowing Workshop - An Creagán- Workshops
During this hands-on glassmaking course you will learn all the basic skills of hot glass working in order to make your own piece with a professional glassblower and learn the magical way glass is sculpted. Our course is great if you are a complete beginner as no previous experience is necessary. We offer tuition on the glassblowing course for a maximum of 4 people at a time, so book early to avoid disappointment. You will be able to take home your own piece of art after it has cooled down overnight.
