Craft Northern Ireland acts as a catalyst for the development of the design-led contemporary craft and applied arts sector in Northern Ireland.

Our programmes, activities and initiatives support and promote the sector as an integral part of the region's economic and cultural infrastructure. We aim to strengthen, develop and champion the practice and awareness of contemporary crafts in the region and to build an integrated, entrepreneurial and vibrant sector throughout Northern Ireland.

Our core objectives:
  • Advocacy and profiling
  • Intelligence and research
  • Raising quality through communicating and promoting good practice
  • Developing partnerships and the regional infrastructure

Craft Northern Ireland will deliver these objectives with a range of partners including, regional government departments and agencies, local craft networks and initiatives, individual designer-makers, local government, cultural organisations and universities and colleges of further and higher education.
