Andrew Cooke’s work reflects his interests and personality to great effect. With a trade background in metalwork and fabrication, along with his interests in subcultures and music, it is easy to see where his inspiration comes from.
Being self sufficient is important to his practice. Since finishing his Degree in Fine and Applied Art (ceramics) in 2012, he has built his studio and wood-fired kiln on a disused stockcar track in the hills overlooking Ards.
He enjoys the making process and experimenting with clays and glazes along with firing techniques. These are key to his practice.
