Brian first became interested in glass blowing while on holiday and not being able to find anywhere in Northern Ireland to experience working with glass, went to The Glass Hub in Wiltshire where he found the medium fascinating.
After several more trips to England, Brian decided to build a furnace and start a studio in his garage, this was the only way he could see to progress in the art and craft of glass blowing. A Minimelt furnace was subsequently purchased which is a portable furnace and has allowed Brian to take glass blowing out to public places such as Castle Ward, Ballina Salmon Festival, An Creagan and to the centre of glass in Waterford. His aim is simply to progress as far as possible in improving skill levels and in using colour to maximum effect.
