Louise Tweed Textile Jewellery
Louise creates bespoke textile jewellery using traditional crochet techniques and hand dyed yarn, mostly cotton. Taking inspiration from micro-organisms and bacteria, she creates abstract and fluid forms in 3D that are intended to be worn on the body. Most recently her work has included glass beads as a focus point.
Having studied Textile Art, Design and Fashion in Ulster University Louise spent time developing her creations, which lead to her being selected to display her graduate collection in London as part of New Designers 2016. Since graduating, she has exhibited as part of the Go Girl collective in PS2 in Sept 2016 and Queen Street Studios in March 2017.
Most recently, Louise has begun an internship with Robyn Galway of Synergy Studios where she is assisting in developing a textile collection.
