Lynsay Raine is an emerging contemporary jeweller. Lynsay began training as a metalsmith in 2003 in Ireland, going on to obtain a BDes Hons in Jewellery Design in 2008 in Auckland New Zealand.
Having trained in more traditional methods whilst in Ireland, Lynsay combines this with more contemporary ideas learnt whilst living overseas. Primarily working in resin, Lynsay casts everyday objects to create decorative pieces of jewellery.
“Using Duality as a framework, I combine objects of old and new, functional and decorative into fossilations, challenging traditional perceptions of preciousness and the way in which we perceive the world around us.”
Lynsay has built up an audience of private collectors overseas and continues to build on this locally.
Bespoke exhibition collections including ‘Brutal Beauty’ and ‘Commodotrophia’ have been shown galleries and fairs in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Lynsay also produces a collection of multiple works available in galleries and design shops. Lynsay's work was recently on show as part of the Contemporary Jewellery Exhibition at George Best Belfast City Airport.
