Michelle Butler Ceramics
Michelle Butler is a Design Graduate from Falmouth School of Art where she specialised in Ceramics. In December 1988 she started her business in Omagh Enterprise Company from where she relocated, in August 2005, to a barn at her home on the Gorton Road, Omagh, where Sperrin Ceramics Studio was born.
Her stoneware ceramics have developed a style which reconciles primitive Celtic influences with contemporary designs and forms. Each piece is handcrafted using a textured stoneware clay and finished with a rich metalic oxide producing a depth of lustre.
Glazes are used to enhance areas of pattern and relief creating a rustic earthy ambience.
Celticstone, Ironstone, Unique and Jewellery Collections are available throughout Ireland and abroad. Celticstone draws its influence fron a strong Irish Legacy, while Ironstone features contemporary scenic plaques and larger coil built, hand carved pots.
