Rachel McKnight studied at The University of Ulster in Belfast. Having graduated in 2003, Rachel set up her workshop at her home in Belfast and produces necklaces, bangles, earrings, rings, brooches and cufflinks to form quirky creations in plastics and silver.
The excitement of sourcing new materials and the experimentation with them inspires her to produce original and innovative jewellery. Transparent and opaque colour influences her designs, plastics allow her to explore this. Simple and uncomplicated shapes and the idea of duplicating these shapes also form the basis for Rachel’s jewellery.
Rachel sells her work locally and internationally, recent stockists are in Germany, Italy, Austria and New York.
Rachel now juggles a successful career with family life, with the addition of a baby boy, Lewis, in June 2012.
