Since graduating from the University of Ulster in 2005 with the idea of creating lighting sculptures and chandeliers with the material Velcro, Rachel has travelled the world producing work for an international client base from Belfast to New York creating commissions for private homes and commercial ventures such as restaurants and galleries.
Rachel has created massive installations for Peugeot’s Flagship showrooms in both Paris and Berlin while also producing pieces for New York’s luxury 5th Avenue Store, Bergdorf Goodman.
Rachel’s most recent collection of work involves various processes such as steaming and boiling Velcro to produce vibrant colours and sparkling metallic finishes. She has just finished collaborating with one of Los Angeles top Interior designers. This has resulted in the commission of a two-metre diameter chandelier for The Hollywood Reporters’ “Design Hollywood” Showhouse, in LA. Rachel is currently working closely with this design company to produce lighting sculptures for their A-list Hollywood clientele.
