Shane Porter creates sculpture exploiting the contrasting qualities of ceramic and glass.
Shane Porter is originally from Enniskillen and began working with clay in 2006. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2015 with an MA in Ceramics
& Glass. He has exhibited throughout the UK and has artwork in the permanent collection of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
He has worked as a Ceramics Technician in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and taught Ceramics at the Affordable Art Fair, London and Hampstead School of Art.
Inspired by the transitory world of dreams and memory, his work explores the ‘In-Betweenness’ of things; the inherent impermanence of situations, moments and events.
Shane works primarily in clay, but more recently has began incorporating glass and other found objects. In 2018 he relocated back to Belfast from 7 years in London.
