Tom Agnew

Tom Agnew studied at the College of Art, Belfast from 1968 to 1974 gaining an honours degree, postgraduate and teaching qualifications over the period. He then worked as a production thrower with Swedish company, Tilgman Keramik, for two years before establishing Mill Pottery in 1976 in a former water-powered mill outside Donemana, Co. Tyrone where he works to the present day.

His work is broad in scope from small intimate pieces in raku to large sculpture and outdoor installations.

Inspiration comes from many sources but the natural world is foremost.

Found materials from industrial metals and irrigation pipe to wallpaper and photography, occasionally combined with wit and humour, are the hallmarks of his work.
