Ann McNulty

Ann McNulty has a degree in ceramics and has been working as a full-time ceramicist since 1978.

“I love to make both tableware and non-functional pieces. I like the discipline and refined qualities of the tableware. The function of a piece is very important. I use a smooth white stoneware clay, the glaze is my own recipe, it has a satin finish and can be used in the oven, microwave dishwasher and freezer.”

“Raku is different it is wild and exciting I am not limited by function I can play with fire literately and metaphorically. When working on a particular idea I invariably end up making a series of different but related pots, it is as if the making takes over in order to develop the idea fully.”

Ann sells mainly fromher studio in The Buttermarket whereher Tableware and Raku are on display.
