Crystals of Tomorrow Workshop

The Crystals of Tomorrow workshop is for people who want to directly experience flameworking glass with the remarkably talented and skilled American artist 2-Stroke, within the world- renowned scenery of the North Antrim Coast. This spectacular location, as backdrop to the Crystals of Tomorrow workshop, will offer the opportunity to learn from the breadth of 2-Stroke’s technical competence, with direct reference to native Irish minerals, along with insightful and constructive guidance for each individual.
During the Crystals of Tomorrow workshop, participants will have the exclusive opportunity, to learn approaches to forming solid, coloured borosilicate
glass; including advanced colour applications and methods of cutting, grinding and polishing.
Workshop instruction and experimentation will be complemented by group discussions and individual feedback from 2-Stroke. Along with a full-featured
flame working studio, there will be access to cold working and sandblasting equipment. Working time in the studio will also be supplemented by a field
trip to the Giants Causeway. Participants will be encouraged to create their own discrete sculptures and jewellery inspired by crystalline formations.
The work created will be reflective of the experience of being immersed in this unique, creative and exploratory environment, located within an area
of outstanding natural beauty.
