Derryglen Flax Mill Open Day and Yard-Fest

A fantastic series of live craft demonstrations.

Since it’s re-birth, the Derrylane Flax-Mill has become an important cultural hub in Northern Ireland, and once a year Marion and Hermann host an an annual Open Day and Yard-Fest. “The long and dark shadows of Covid-19 couldn’t avoid Flax Mill totally", says Marion, “we tried our best to maintain as much ‘normality’ as we could and that includes our Open Day, which we hope will be the most memorable day of this year! Twelve of the very finest craftspeople from around Ireland will arrive to give demonstrations and display the finest range of hand made products. Of course, our looms will be weaving and my team (this year my daughters Tamara and Fiona) and I will be in the mill to answer all your questions Berliner Emma Poser, who trained at the mill, will also operate one of the Derrylane looms".
