'Fragmented Realities' Textile Exhibition
This exhibition by Mairead McCormack explores the idea of memories, imagination, fragmented realities and interconnectedness.
Inspiration stems from found paper artefacts and photographs. These are digitally juxtaposed to create original artwork, allowing the viewer to explore
the story for themselves and question the meaning behind each piece.
The work is meticulously hand embroidered, harking back to traditions of labour intensive and well made work within textiles.
This series aims to question the effect modern society has on emerging generations, how they perceive the world and appreciate traditions and how relevant elements of the past are in today's world.
