Nigel O’Reilly Goldsmith works for 11 UK and Irish jewellery houses alongside the development of his own bespoke collections and future exhibitions. As part of their studio expansion, Nigel O’Reilly Goldsmith is currently seeking a full time apprentice goldsmith.

    Craft NI invites you to register a craft-related event for August Craft Month 2018.

    August Craft Month is ‘An Annual Celebration of Craft in Northern Ireland’.

    For the past 11 years Craft Northern Ireland invited artist/designer/makers, craft organisations, craft retail outlets, galleries, museums, local councils, arts centres, cultural venues, further education colleges, universities, heritage organisations, amongst others, to consider putting on craft-related events and activities, during August Craft Month, which support and promote themselves and/or artist/designer/makers and of course Craft.

    Blacksmith Residency Opportunity

    Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council is embarking on a Heritage Lottery-funded project to develop Moneypenny’s Forge as a unique heritage craft facility on the banks of the Newry Canal. This 2-year project will increase access to the Forge through learning programmes, events and workshops. We are currently seeking proposals from experienced blacksmiths to participate in the delivery of the project through our six-month Blacksmith-in-Residence Programme.

    Belfast City Council, in partnership with Visit Belfast, has launched a competition to find new tourist products to sell at the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre.

    Successful candidates will be offered one-to-one mentoring to help design and develop their product and then quote for it to go on sale in Visit Belfast’s city centre premises – one of the most visited buildings in Belfast.

    Call for applications - The Craft Film Festival May 2018

    The Craft Council England are inviting submissions for the third edition of Real to Reel: The Craft Film Festival, which will be screened at our partners’ Picturehouse Central London on 8th, 9th and 10th May 2018.

    All genres can apply: documentaries, story-led films, animation and more. Whether celebrating the skills involved in prop making, following the sometimes surreal journeys of individual makers, or exploring ways making brings people together, Real to Reel 2018 will bring the best of contemporary craft film to the silver screen.

    Building on the success of previous editions, Crafts Council will explore opportunities for national and international touring beyond the London screening, in partnership with Picturehouse Central and the British Council.
