"Craftsmanship is thriving in Northern Ireland.Belfast is now a city with a fast growing culture of making."
This is a quote from Kevin McCloud during the Grand Designs – RIBA House of the Year Final last night on Channel 4.
Last night’s houses on the long list were grouped under the theme of interesting materials and craftsmanship.
“With the right materials in the right hands an everyday object can become a thing of beauty. That’s the definition of craftsmanship. Taking raw materials and skills honed over thousands of hours of experience to produce something extraordinary. Nowhere is that kind of craftsmanship thriving more than in Northern Ireland. Belfast is now a city with a fast growing culture of making”, said Kevin.
