First Heritage Craft Sector analysis announced
The Heritage Craft Association have announced that work to map the sector will begin shortly. This will include the creation of a database of craftspeople.
One of the first objectives of the Heritage Craft Association (HCA) has been to carry out a a full-scale sectoral analysis to establish which crafts are endangered, which are doing well and which offer potential for growth. They are delighted with the decision taken by UK Skills Minister, John Hayes MP, to fund this research. Trends Business Research Ltd (TBR) have been appointed to undertake the project.
The final report is due to be completed by next March. This is a big piece of work, which includes creating a database of as many practicing craftspeople as soon as possible. They are hoping that anyone with an involvement in the sector will spread the word when the request goes out for craftspeople to send in their details.
Keep an eye on the HCA's website for further information.
