Shane Porter represented by Thrown Contemporary at London Art Fair

Belfast based Ceramic Designer Shane Porter will exhibit at London Art Fair in a special spotlight on contemporary ceramics, represented by contemporary ceramics gallery, Thrown Contemporary, at stand G43 from 16-20 January 2019

Shane graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Ceramics & Glass in 2015, and has since worked in the V&A, Hampstead School of Art and is currently Lecturer in Ceramics at Belfast Metropolitan College.

Inspired by the transitory world of dreams and memory, Shane's practice explores the contrasting properties of ceramic and glass.

Thrown was established in March 2018 in response to the current uprising of ceramics within contemporary art. Fascinated by this age of alternative mediums, the gallery seeks out distinctive contemporary art in its many forms with a particular focus on the creativity currently turning to clay. The gallery represents internationally acclaimed names alongside emerging talent, providing a much-needed platform for makers finding their identity as artists.
