A new round of the Creative Industries Innovation fund, run by the Arts Council Northern Ireland, is now open. The fund provides assistance to companies – including craft – at critical times in their business and product development. The deadline is 23rd February 2012.

The Trust makes awards to applicants to help them further their research and practice in the areas of visual or applied arts, craft, design, architecture or history of art and design. The deadline is 6pm, 2nd March 2012.

The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) is the charitable arm of The Royal Warrant Holders Association. QEST awards twice a year, ranging from £2000 to £15,000 and are open to everyone who wishes to improve their skills in their craft.

Inspired by… is the V&A’s annual art competition for people on part-time courses. Participants create a work of art or craft inspired by the collections of either V&A South Kensington, or the V&A Museum of Childhood.

The Council areas of Ards, Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Down and Newry & Mourne have launched a new Craft Development Programme – Expanding our Craft Horizons – and are inviting craftspeople to get involved.

The award offers financial assistance of up to £1,000 to British artists, craftspeople, designer-makers and sculptors who are unable effectively to pursue their vocation by reason of their financial difficulties.
