Basketry Festival 2020Exhibitions
The Irish Basketmakers Association (IBA) are delighted to announce a Basketry Festival in Derry/Londonderry. The festival will take place in St Columb’s Park House and will include exhibitions, talks, a pop-up shop, demonstrations, workshops and sculpture in the park.

Macrame Kokedama WorkshopWorkshops
Hosted by Claire of NodoKnots, an experience horticulturist and macrame maker, this workshop combines basic macrame skills with Kokedama, a style of Japanese bonsai in which a plant's root system is wrapped in moss and bound with string, transforming it into a living sculpture.

This is the first craft village of 2020 held at Brownlow House, Lurgan with over 25 craft and food stalls showcasing the work of local artists and craftspeople. Admission is free and as well as stalls there are live demonstrations, a children’s craft workshop table and a host of great ‘make and take’ adult craft workshops such as, mini decoupage, flower making and card making.

The Crystals of Tomorrow workshop is for people who want to directly experience flameworking glass with the remarkably talented and skilled American artist 2-Stroke, within the world- renowned scenery of the North Antrim Coast. This spectacular location, as backdrop to the Crystals of Tomorrow workshop, will offer the opportunity to learn from the breadth of 2-Stroke’s technical competence, with direct reference to native Irish minerals, along with insightful and constructive guidance for each individual.

From Flame to Fuse WorkshopWorkshops
From Flame to Fuse is a two day class designed for people who want to learn methods and techniques of Flameworking glass, specifically for including into kiln formed glass. Using Bullseye glass, the class will cover how to break down sheet glass to make rods and stringers that can be further manipulated in the flame. Over two days, participants will have the opportunity to learn simple flame working skills under the guidance of Andrea Spencer which will allow them to experimentally play, practice and construct with glass.
